PLA (polylactic acid) is a plant-based, biodegradable plastic which commonly uses corn starch as a raw material.
It is commonly preferred as an alternative environmentally-friendly plastic for 3D printing.
It is easy to work with, provides excellent adherence and is specifically indicated for long lasting prints. PLA has a heat resistant temperature of 65 °C, this is why it is particularly suitable for decorative objects with no mechanical constraints.
To manufacture parts wit higher heat resistance other options are available such as our Tough SLA resin or ABS filament.

Standard SLA Resin
Standard resins produce very high resolution prints. The smooth finish is comparable with an injection moulded part. The low cost makes them ideal for prototyping applications.
The colour of the resin affects its properties. For example, grey resin is better suited for parts with fine details and white resin for parts that require a very smooth surface.
However the low heat resistance, brittleness and of low impact strength are cons that makes these resins less desirable for mechanical purposes and mostly used as display models.
Tough SLA Resin
Formulated to withstand extensive testing and perform under stress.
Tough Resin is the strongest and stiffest material that we can print. This is the most desirable resin for prototyping strong and sturdy parts that should not bend easily.
Having similar properties to ABS, it could be used to create jigs and fixtures requiring minimal deflection.
Castable SLA Resin
Castable wax resins are commonly used in jewelry and dental industries. They capture intricate features and offer extremely smooth surfaces. It is filled with 20% wax material for reliable casting with zero ash content and clean burnout. Such printed parts are strong enough to handle without post curing and suitable for direct investment casting.
